These are carefully selected verses which have had an influence on all my life experiences. I could have chosen any verses but I chose something I know has manifested itself in my life. This series will have roughly 8 parts over the next few days. I hope these verses make an impact in your life. Be blessed.
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations
The choice of this verse as the first was quite easy. Over time, I’ve come to understand and believe that this is indeed the word of the Lord. God being the Omniscient one, knew us even when we were just a clot of blood. Setting us apart is a sign that we’re to live a purpose driven life. This word was directed at the Prophet Jeremiah and has a different interpretation for us. Notwithstanding that, appointing us as prophets to the nations is more like a Great Commission. Not everyone is born a prophet but we all have callings or gifts and we are expected to make use of them.
Job 42:1-2: Then Job replied to the Lord; I know that you can do all things, no plan of yours can be thwarted.
There have been times when I’ve had my back against the wall in my walk with Christ. Obstacles more often than not, create doubt in one’s mind but I’ve learnt to believe that no obstacles put in our path can thwart or alter the plans of God for our lives. You just need to have faith that God does everything he sets out to do in our lives and his plans for us never fail.
Psalm 119:89 Your word Lord, is eternal. it stands firm in the heavens
We all know that any word from the Lord uttered from heaven above never passes away. It remains from generation to generation. I have seen evidence of God’s eternal words. When God declares something from heaven above, it holds and doesn’t change. A declaration of success in heaven over your life is the surest word you can ever receive.
Psalm 119: 105: Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path
The word of God should be the light on your path. Reading His word gives us a better understanding of how he wants us to live. The word contains mysteries that can only be revealed by constantly studying and dissecting the word. The word of God is like the lighthouse at the shore guiding the men at sea. We are like seamen sailing towards our destination (SALVATION) and we need the Word of God to be our lighthouse.
Joel 2: 32 (a) :And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance
As Christians we have moments which can lead us to eternal damnation. However, God’s promise to his people remains true from age to age. Whenever we fall as believers, this word should give us hope that when we call on His name, he will deliver us from our sinful nature.
This is the first part of this series and it is my prayer that God will minister to you through this series at the point of your need. Be blessed and remember to share the link to others and let the good gospel spread to the ends of the world.
