Day 11 of Blogtober is here and today, I’ve decided to talk about a verse in the Bible. This verse is my 2020 favorite and I’d like to share it again for my loyal readers.
Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim the good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.
18 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord s favor.
Believers have faced hardship throughout this year 2020. Many of us have struggled to cope with the restrictions put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19. Evangelism has been non-existent this year but fortunately, there are signs of hope. Social media has become a powerful tool to preach the good news to the poor as the wind of the end-time revival blows. We as believers have to do our best to reach the unreached and liberate them, to partake in the Jubilee. The year 2020 is a year of the jubilee. As such, we are required to ensure that we contribute to helping people celebrate and partake in the jubilee. Whether you take the “20” in 2020 or the sum of 20 and 20 (40), this year is definitely the Jubilee. “The year of the Lord’s favour is also known as the Jubilee. Luke 4:18-19 teaches us what is required of believers in the Jubilee. It’s not too late to preach the good news to the poor or to liberate the oppressed. The year 2020 still has more than 8 weeks and that is more than enough time to ensure that nobody misses their chance to celebrate the Jubilee. This is a charge for every believer that must be kept. Be joyous in your jubilee.
