For some of us when there is peace we just don’t like it! We prefer to stir up trouble and provoke people (to anger). This piece is dedicated to causing trouble plus a shift in how people reply to certain questions in certain conversations. Everyone has something that is a conversation turnoff and today we’ll be talking about some of these turnoffs that make me zone out of a conversation no matter how much I want to talk to a person. Therefore, without much ado let’s read about some of the annoying replies. I won’t type a conclusion on this post so please enjoy and make sure you share your comments in the comment section. Q: WHAT’S UP A: COOL/NOTHING
What can I say? Or rather what shall I say? Personally, I feel the question “what’s up” could start a full fledged conversation. Over the years, social media has made “cool” the accepted answer to this question. Alright yes everyone has their way of answering a question but when two people want to have an actual conversation, nothing is not such a good way to keep the conversation going. Nothing all but closes the conversation and it is very rare to find a way to keep the conversation going with that as the reply. As friends there are various ways to keep the conversation going. So then what do I expect when I ask what’s up? Tell me what is going on with you, what are you doing at that particular moment. Make it fun make me want to ask you another question……………..
Q: HOW WAS YOUR DAY A: FINE!!!!
I said this like one million times come on guys……..When I ask you how your day was, I want you to tell me what went on during your day. I want to know the ins and outs of your whole day. Not saying that “fine” is bad but I’d prefer “fine” plus how your day actually went. Talking about your day all the way from the morning till the moment I message you….many questions can come up from just that reply. Wait! Wait! Wait! This is not about someone I may or may not be interested in….badddddd people
Q: HOW ARE YOU? A: AM FINE
If this one didn’t come on the list, this list would be incomplete. This is probably one of the most annoying reply yet. I’d like to be very honest if you’ve ever replied like this then your English teacher has suffered in vain. I know a few people who would argue with that it doesn’t actually matter that much but I feel like it should be addressed. Spoken English is different from written and some may argue that “I’m” sounds like “am” yet theses two are used in different contexts. Just type “I’m” and be free of my annoying self because I will correct you.

Hehe. True talk. All of these makes conversation difficult to continue. It shows lack of interest in wanting to converse. However, there are times, people are genuinely not in the mood for a chat. They may reply with short answers instead of leaving you with no reply.
Also, “cool” has become a standard reply for “what’s up”. It also okay to ask, “what are you doing, or what did you do?”
That would demand precise answers. “What’s up” seems pretty vague. And no one wants to reply by sharing a whole essay because of a one word chat, “what’s up”.
This real talk though. Good observation Dave.
