Mindset is everything. Yep! Mindset is very important. Your mindset influences your decisions, actions and generally everything. The right mindset is important for a person to succeed. Anything is possible with the right mindset.
Many people are limited by their own mindset and end up blaming others for their limitations. We also have a group of people who put their minds right and explore limitless possibilities. Today, I’m speaking about a man who came out of depression, suicidal tendencies and addiction to win a world title.
A few years ago, Tyson Fury was the hottest prospect in the heavyweight boxing division. Fresh off beating long-time king of the heavyweight division, Wladimir Klitschko, the “Gypsy King” was expected to begin his dominance of the division. This didn’t happen as Fury suffered from depression and addiction and went on a downward spiral. Countless times, he toyed with suicide and nearly went through with it one day when he slid behind the wheel of his sports car and went up to “about 190 miles per hour.” His aim? To hit a bridge and end his life. He didn’t manage to go through with it because a voice in his head told him not to do it. This timely intervention compelled Fury to check into a hospital, weighing well over 400 pounds and fearing a heart attack or stroke. After getting the needed help, he put his mind to it and started the long road to good health, both physically and mentally. This mindset, “I can do this,” culminated in a world title fight with then WBC champion, Deontay Wilder. Fast forward to 2020, Fury is the reigning WBC Heavyweight champion and lineal heavyweight champion and is scheduled to fight on December 5th, in what can be said to be a “homecoming fight,” in London. An amazing journey back to the top from the dark!
